The powerlines track fires up

On my bike ride along the powerlines on 2 October I decided that the flowering there made it worth going back for a walk with Frances.  That happened on 3 October.  This covers a different part of the same heath habitat as the TOPC walk.
It was very warm (~28oC) when we set off, which is pretty good for emerging sun orchids.  There were many Thelymitra ixioides along the track under the powerlines (less on the formed road at the side of the slashed area).
It was very pleasing to also locate about 12 T. rubra (Salmon Sun Orchid) along the track.
The grass trees (Xanthorroea resinosa) are sending up spikes all over, and a few have got flowers.

Yesterday I noticed some Boronia mulleri on the edge of the bush.  Today we found a very nice colony of low shrubs out in the slash.
Frances also noticed that in the bush there are some very large shrubs - almost small trees - of this species.  We usually think of Boronia as being modest bushes.

There was also quite a lot of Pomaderris a little further up the track.  Looking at the vegetative elements and the colour of the flowers I concluded this was P. ferruginea.
