In summary, goodbye La Nina.  The month was dry with almost spot on average temperatures.

Rainfall

A dry month with only 3 days of any precipitation totalling 35.0mm.  There were not even any other days with enough dew to register on my weather station!  This is only the second time since 1994 that there have been so few rainy days in February.  (For earlier years there are significant issues with missing values for individual days in the BoM records.)
Not surprisingly the fall was much less than both 2022 and the median.

My pro-rata estimate of the possible annual fall has basically been sliding since mid-January.  (It has got an unpick from the ~32mm that have fallen early on 1 March: but this report is about February.)

Temperatures

The anomaly for February ended at +0.02C (effectively 0) so a month that averages out to average.  The monthly progress of the anomaly shows the cool beginning to the month, followed by some warm period ending up bobbling close to 0.
I now have enough monthly values of the anomaly to compile a time series chart.
The contrast between January and February is quite clear.   need to think a little more about the wider interpretation of this series.

The extreme temperatures for the each day are shown in the following chart.  The warmer days leading the anomaly back towards 0 are clearly evident.
Possibly as an indicator of moving out of La Nina the minimum was slightly below average and the maximum slightly above.  For the last two years the opposite has been the case for most months.

Minimum temperatures

The average minimum for the month was 15.51C.  This was a smidgin below average and quite a lot below 2022.
There were no periods with 3 consecutive days of both minimum and maximum temperatures significantly below average (ie cold spells).  While there were 5 days with a minimum more than 1 Standard Deviation below average, none of them matched a very cool Maximum.

Maximum temperatures

The average minimum for the month was 25.71C.  This was a fair bit above average and particularl above 2022.
There were no periods with 3 consecutive days of both minimum and maximum temperatures significantly above average (ie heat waves).  There were 6 days with a maximum more than 1 Standard Deviation above average, and two of them matched a very warm minimum (so could be classed as Hot Days).  However there was only 1 run of three high maxima and only 1 of them had a high minimum.

Humidity

There are a few very low morning readings but overall the average 0900 humidity is well below last year's value and close to average.  As would be expected with very low rainfall, the 1500 humidity is very much below last year and the average.

Wind

Overall a calm month, except for the two days 24th and 25th which were the 2nd and 3rd longest February wind runs I have recorded.
