Mainly insects

On the 6th we went to Betka .  The more interesting part of the visit were the insects on the track and nearby.

This first image is some sort of wasp.  Thus far the experts on iNaturalist have been silent about specifics.

A Common Grass Blue (Zizina labradus).  There were a lot of these around as well as Cabbage Whites.
Fly United!  Or at least "perch united".   These dragonflies have been identified as Tau Emeralds (Hemicordulia tau).

A burnt stumpplet at the seaview end of the nice new lookout.

A facially-obfuscated surfer .
Finally a plant.  It was identified in situ as a cudweed which seems to be the case.  However when researching to try to find more detail (and the Latin) Flora of Victoria offered 7 genera containing cudweeds!  The best match - from scanning images - was Euchiton umbricola.  Unfortunately it also comments "Uncommon in Victoria, confined almost exclusively to shaded cliff-faces (often near waterfalls) and boulders above c. 1000 m, but occurring disjunctly at c. 400 m at Kinglake National Park."  This site was about 10m above sea level.  I await advice from gurus.
