This covers a range of activities that I haven't got around to including elsewhere.
It begins with a walk along the Captains Creek Firetrail.
The first notable feature of the track is a very steep hill after about 500 m where the track swings away from the Genoa Rd. In the past it has been very rutted but - presumably to get tradies in to work on the Jetty - it has now been resurfaced and fixed up. It is still very steep, but some additional run offs have been cut in which should preserve it from at least moderate rainfall. Not an aberrant Acacia, but a Hardenbergia violacea climbing upwards.
Acacia oxycedrus
Hovea heterophylla
A burnt stump.
The next image is from Bastion Point Beach and shows the aftermath of a breeding attempt by Red-capped Plovers. The male is on the bottom, with his wings outstretched. The female, on top, looks as though she is stunned!
Royal Spoonbills near Broome St.
Now that is a mullet!
Not weather nor wildlife but reflecting the times. We haven't been panic buying, but do have a few bog rolls on hand.
A modest flock of Galahs (and a Magpie) soaking up a few early morning rays.
Pittosporum undulatum
Hardenbergia violacea in our drive
